| Starting wetroom help.. | | Hello,
We are putting a wetroom at one end of our bathroom (with electric underfloor heating). The floor is currently just boards. We have been told that we need Hardibacker board up to the shower tray. Should this be installed straight on to the joists (removing the floorboards), on top of the floorboards, or do we need to put ply down first?
Many thanks,
Ben & Jen | | |

Welcome to the forum, just to clarify, are you having a normal shower tray, or one that is sunk into the floor and tiled over so it is not visible?

Oli | Hi Oli! Thank you. We are planning to buy this hidden tray Showerlay Shower Tray 900 x 900 x 20mm (With Centre Drain) (unless anyone knows of anywhere cheaper!) and tile over it with mosaic tiles, in reply to whitebeam's question. Rest of the bathroom will have large floor tiles. Thanks to you both for any advice. | |
