Default Chipboard

Hi Guys,

I surveyed a floor in a bathroom which had been carpeted and to reveal it is normal chipboard underneath, I advised the customer that it would have to be boarded with WP plyboard,

The customer has come back to me after 2 weeks to say that there is water damage at the bath end.

Would it be ok to let the damage dryout anf then lay WP ply on top or should i tank it first.

many thanks,

Default Re: Chipboard

You would need to judge that, if the chipboard has started to expand then best cut the piece out before over boarding.

Default Re: Chipboard

I agree with wetdecs...if the chipboard has swelled then the screws for the ply will not bite into the damaged sections......
