Question tile load

I am using imperband membrane and intend tanking the wall shower area upto metre and a half. I intend using large tiles 900x300. Will this be too big a load on the membrane?

Default Re: tile load

Try to weigh the tile before the lads come on the site tonight, a metre of small tiles is the same as 1 metre of (say) 300 x 200. Thickness and density of a tile determine the weight not the actual size.

Most membranes accept the same weight as what the substrate can carry.......but if in doubt then check with the manufacture........
