| Tanking Bath Surround? | | Hi,
I was wondering should I be thinking of how to tank/water proof my bathsurround?
I'm also building an access panel, how can ensure this is all waterproof too, sounds tricky
anyone tanked and tiled a surround?

| Re: Tanking Bath Surround? | | You could use something like wedi board to build it with... WEDI
or you could use kerdi mat from schluter to protect the surround if it is already built...as long as it is protectd from water ingression .... | |

| Re: Tanking Bath Surround? | | cheers dave, but my bath surround is similar to pic below, so water can accumulate on it, it will be tiled so would sealing the lip of the bath against the tiles be enough? | | |

| Re: Tanking Bath Surround? | | B and bloody Q.. .....or you can buy this system from schluter..... - First, adhere an aluminium bracket to the back of each perimeter tile with tile adhesive so that the magnet extends beyond the tile’s edge.
- Set tiles with the magnets attached as perimeter limits, so that four magnets extend into the access opening.
- To form the access panel cover, connect the corresponding number of tiles by attaching a tile to their backs with tile adhesive.
- Using silicone, adhere the counterplates to the back of the panel cover in alignment with the perimeter magnets.
- After the silicone has cured, install the cover and seal the surrounding joint with a colour co-ordinated sealing compound.
