Hi

First off can you give an idea of what size former we are talking about, what sort of house is it a wimpey or something of that nature, how deep would you be prepared to go.

I can supply you and tell you help you no problem at all if that suits

ok ill give you a quick run down on the job

the cusomer has an elderly relative moving in who is not very mobile,
the reason for a wet room is so that the carer can sit her in the shower on a special chair so a normal shower cubicle is out of the question.

the house is about 50 years old, im thinking the former should be about 1000x1000 or 1000x 1200

as far as how deep i want to go well i have to extend the soil pipe for the toile to the other side of the room and it has to go under the floor, so there will be alot of diging going on anyway so it can be as deep as it has to be.

also as it is a ground floor room and concrete is it still necesary to tank the shower area?

The reason I ask is if it has to be passed by local authority then they may not ok a german base which we do and would need to go with a UK base.

If it was one of the big house builders then the screeds are a lot softer than 50 yrs ago and was related to the how deep question.

Wasnt digging just trying we get it right for you

Ok

If you want a wetroom shower tray for a concrete floor we have 2 options :

First is the Tilux shower tray former which comes as 900 x 900mm, 1000 x1000mm & 1200 x 1200mm eand has a total instal hight top of tray to bottom of trap 105mm. The Tilux former has a factory fitted drain collar and tanking membrane all fits together.

Its here for you : Wetdecs Tilux wetroom shower tray former

Second option is a Tuff2 wetroom former much like the Impey tray, this has a tray height of 22m and trap depth of 130mm so you would need to go deeper. The gulley seal and waterproof membrane is a diy job on this one although it is the more expensive

It is here for you : Wetdecs Tuff2 Wetroom Shower base former

Both of these wetroom shower trays are level access and suitable for wheel chair loads

The rest of your floor won't need tanking once the base is sealed in. The walls in the wet area will need tanking and there are 2 tanking kits available.

Have a nose and we will see where we go from here
