Re: Limestone or Travertine Bathroom ?
Underfloor heating is perfect for stone, just use it with a thermostat.

Re: Limestone or Travertine Bathroom ?
Limestone will naturally have less voids in it than travertine but if both are filled properly they should be about the same for durability and stain resistance.
Just remember that both are acid sensitive (calcium based based stones) and need to be sealed and cared for properly with the right products.
One man can do it all with the advice of his peers.

Dry treat is probably the best sealer on the market as it's a lifetime sealer.

It's a lifetime sealer but has a 15 year warranty. No I don't sell it for a living, I'm a satisfied customer. I own a granite worktop fabrication company and we use it on all our products

Re: Limestone or Travertine Bathroom ?
Thanks for the replies guys, all good stuff. Just found out, god bless tilers forums ! That the plaster won't hold the stone and I need to put backer boards on the walls. I have done a bit of porcelain tiling but never stone. The walls are v goods in a true and square sence can I just screw the backer boards to the walls ?

Re: Limestone or Travertine Bathroom ?
That's it - 12mm Hardie tile backer boards mechanically fixed. Tape and screed the joins.

Sometimes 15 years seems like a lifetime - thats about how long I have been married.
