Hi Mike,is this a special edition? It's just the tj64 is normally a 15.6 screen..

its has a little sticker that says 15.6" 16.9

then a big sticker saying 16.9 mate

Nothing in mate to be honust half given up its my little boys bday tommorow so this needs to go. ill pop in to town in abit and flog it there. Have got a desktop one as well its older than me. But it works so i wont be going any where lol

Mike, how old is your boy?? He might like some really nice memories for his special day even better than something bought?
I remember being so skint one day when my boy was little, so opted to build a kite (it wasn't very good ) and bake a cake and have a really nice kite flying picnic with some of his friends, didn't cost much but he remembers it still now, 20 years later! Just a thought, money can't always buy the best things. Good luck with it all

this advice might not be much use mike but when times are really tough, they sometimes reveal something in you that you never knew you had....one day you will look back at these tough times and smile and think about the person it made you become!

keep fighting and keep going mate theres a door in that wall somewhere, and if you cant see it, just kick the bleedin wall down, works for me

ps, hope your little fella had a good birthday!!! he's got dad to be proud of and dont you ever forget that!!!!

Laptop has SOLD now

He had a good birthday and is back to school now.

Thanks for all the kind words and the kite idea is a good one i think ill do that this weekend.

And im running at wall headfirst at moment mate. lol

Pleased you managed to give your lad a good birthday

The kite idea is a good idea,things like that do mean a lot more,my lad still remembers card board castles and wooden carts we built together when he was younger,often it is us,the parents who put the pressure on ourselves to get things for the kids and not them,I realise now the most important gift you can give your kids is...time...and I failed there,spending to much time at work trying to provide long term ,useless material things

Anyway,hopefully that wall is about to come down,think most have been there,I have,

Dont be too hard on yourself, when the work is there you have to do it, its a catch 22 situation. I have spent years working away from home but needs must.

kids mean more than anything else mike, they dont remember fancy pressies they remember the fun they had with their dad

one year when the kids were small and I was struggling to pay the mortgage I made my son a farm out of scrap ply I picked up from work and later in the year my daughter got a cooker made from scrap ply

I couldnt afford macdonalds so I bought mince and made burgers for them

thats the birthday they both talk about and the farm and oven have been passed on to other kids, they have never mentioned any other birthday
