Question Open Question: Can someone please explain the method for measuring a floor tile for cutting around a toilet?

I know it would be better and more professional to remove the toilet but it is a new house and the bathroom has been fitted out and the wall around the toilet has already been tiled. Don't tell me to get a contractor to rip out my bathrom suite cos it aint happening. I just want to know how to measure the cut. Thanks.I agree that the best option is to remove the toilet but the sink pedestal sits on the floor with the sink obviously on top of the pedestal. The problem is the copper pipes come up through the floor behind the pedestal and are soldered into the tap connections. If i were to tile under the toilet i still cannot tile under the sink and pedestal because the copper pipes would end up too short.

just inagine the pan is in quarters, basically centre the pan so all you are doing is nipping the corner off each of the four tiles, but checking out your cuts against the walls and door. By doing this first you should be able to adjust your tiles accordingly to make your cuts nice and large!

Good luck!
