It could be fumes or dust, but one may also want to consider that cats are very conservative creatures; They don't like change. I'll leave the discussion of the "why" to another time, but the fact remains that cats often react in a negative way to change of scenery, atleast at first. Hell, if I place a chair where there wasn't one earlier in my house, my cat becomes ultra-suspicious, and is very easily spooked. If he discovers I've rearranged more furniture, he goes and hides in my closet for several hours, and refuses to come out, even to eat...
So imagine the trauma a cat experiences when you've got craftsmen making strange noises and wrecking your home by installing a shiny new floor. Atleast, that's probably how a cat would view it. |
