Question Open Question: Why does the tile grouting sink into little holes as it dries?

Ive tried it on dry walls, wet walls, walls which have been PVA'd. Ive tried packing more in.Ive tried different grouts but they all sink into little holes as it dries and I have to go over it again to fill them in. help?

maybe your sponge is too wet and the grout is shrinking because too much water has been applied?
