Open Question: which flooring would you recommend?

it's for a large kitchen, dining area & leads out into a laundry room. we are on our 3rd wooden/laminate floor which has been ruined by spillages/leaking washing machine etc.. Vinyl is an option i suppose - or tiles...what would you suggest best for a busy area like this? i'd appreciate any serious answers as we are not sure which would be best.....thank you.
