Errr - is only slightly to do with tile (not at all really) but you guys will know I'm sure...

I'm going to cut out plastic sill and stick it on top - this old sill currently slopes hence the bit of wood to level it up. My question is about the stuff between the window frame the the wall. It's some kind of hard sealant. Tried spraying UB40 on it - can't shift it. It would be hard to cut it out with a stanley knife as well. Should I just sand it, put some additional (whatever it is) here and there to make it smooth and neat then just paint it?

Got to get more of that purple off the window frame then paint the wall white.

Plasterer next week then more tile!!! So much fun! xx

itll be an ms polymer or neutral cure siliconesealant assuming the window has been fitted corrctly. it is a biatch to cut out and remove...scrubbing brush and bleach and if you want to put more in and neaten it up you can smooth it with white spirit whilst still soft. it goes off like stink though so fast and clean is the way to work.

Love the language! Can you name a product to make it easier for me to find? xx

True story..... Bostick, during initial tests, gave it to tradesmen to try, in plain white tubes. When asked how it performed, they got quite a few say "It stick's like shi*t". Name stuck and thats what they called it :).

Thank you!
I have actually used that - 16 years ago I stuck some plastic sill onto my rotton wooden one. Its' still firmly there.

Everyone just wants to see the tile!
Patience! You'll be glad to hear that this week I purchased some of that Mapei stuff for large tiles. I used it for large floor tiles on the wall and some plastic edging. Today I wanted to see how secure they were. The tiles are solid but the edging would come away with a good pull. Lucky I've got another tub of ready mix for my little tiles!!

Last tube I saw had the word sh*t removed as someone complained.
