Hi Grumps, you keep dropping Monolit into the forum, could you tell which one you have. Looking for a 60mm porcelain cutter. Use a 50 ts plus at the moment and not swayed by the rubi ti 66 yet.

    Hi Grumpy,
i have posted a few times and you always appear to be the most helpful. I completed my tiling course in March this year at TTS in edinburgh. I have two questions which i hope you could give me some decent advice about.
Firstly, it appears work is drying up slowly but surely and i am trying not to let it get me down as i realise the credit crunch is hitting everyone hard. However, in your experience is their anything extra i could do to get more work,or anything that works better/worse? (currently advertising in shopping centres, local newspaper, business cards in tile shops)
Secondly, having come from a retail background i sometimes struggle to essentially make up prices to customers. Do you have a set rate per m2 or a decent template which i could work from to help me with pricing work? As with retail the price is always the same, however we are obviously in total control of which price to charge, which i seem to feel a bit uncomfortable with.
I appreciate your help, and hope you dont mind me private mailing you for advice.

Thanks for the advice grumpy. I'll definitely do the 4 week course. I think my current employer is going to pay for it as part of the redundancy package. Can't wait to get started.

    Hi Grumpy
I'm new here. I've read that you did the 4 week course in Warrington. Did you set up on your own straight away and did you have some experience before. I'm getting laid off in december and am thinking about doing the course in january. Do you think the course is good enough to go self employed after. Any advice would be very welcome.
    Thanks

Hi Grumpy I was looking at an old thread and saw you reccomended the Montolit Masterpiuma, do you still use this one and if money wasn't an option would you go for a more expensive model or is it just waisting money on something fancy? thanks for your advice as usual! one step closer to starting part time got a van at last so now I need to fill it!
