Default Slate Stone Care

Hi

I recently bought 15m2 of rivened slate from Geostone - Natural Stone Tiles. and have a few questions.

I know I need to seal the stone but do I do this before I lay them on the floor, or would I adhesive and grout them before sealing?

Dont want to mess them up so any advice is much appreciated!!!

By the way, the guys at Geostone - Natural Stone Tiles. were pretty helpful if anyone is after some natural stone (they didnt tell me to say that by the way!!!)

Thanks in advance for your help with this

Gareth

If it's a stone that needs sealing I would of thought you're best sealing it before grouting, but I've never used slate yet, so I could be wrong.

I would always seal before i lay any, just incase any adhesive gets on them.
really depends how clean u are when laying.

then seal again before groat and seal a few days after finished.

hi gareth mate...as you lay the slate you wash it as you go...let it dry then seal..wait for seal to dry then grout...wash grout off then wash again and leave to dry ( including grout )...then when dry wash until slate is clean then let dry and seal again.....this seals the joints as well...............dave...

i recommend lithofin slate seal...
