Only did my first entry ever last month,
does the job have to be one specific room , or could it be some pics of few rooms which were part of same job at same house.
Congratulations to blocko last month.
Give us a chance !!
Here is a joint entry from Nick Szysler (Macten) and Phil Hobson. This is a job Nick asked me to give him a hand with. The costomers Richard & Julie had an existing geometric hallway floor (circa 1909) which they decided to replace, they reclaimed most of the tiles but as they had extended the area to incorporate a new WC. they knew they would need many more tiles. So they sourced more tiles from ten different floors, from around the same period.
These tiles were from various areas and manufacturers. The differences in size and thickness of these tiles we knew from the start would be an issue. Nick suffered weeks of bad weather freezing cold, wind, rain, snow etc. painstakingly dressing each tile to remove the old grout. He then had to manufacture thousands of new pieces cut down from old stock to suit.
The old floor was removed completely, a DPM installed along with wet UFH. I hope the pics tell the story, sorry there are so many, but I think you need to see them to understand the challenge we had.
Just to add in pic lp20, you can see Nick's millimeter perfect core drilling for the door brass bolt keepers. He had seven of these to do, a very tense time for him. Can I also add, it was a pleasure meeting and working with Nick, we made a good team, hope we can team up again.
well done lads i wud be proud of that floor if i done it like that i love them floors its a shame that they get carpet stuck on em or ripped up ,once again well done
