Hi Tilers forums.co.uk members.
Please enter your pics for JOTM January 2012..
The prize for this month is a GOODIE bag from
All entries must either be date stamped on the pics entered or a news paper dated within the JOTM thread shown in one of the pics.
This is to prevent entries that were completed before the JOTM started etc, this is to make it fair for all who enter.
So if you enter pics and they are not as above then your entry will not count..

Re: ** JOTM January 2012 **
get it in .
My entry is not that special .
this is the first time i have entered and i dont want to be the only entry.
This job was representitive of what i do , not one of the more intricate works.
Having only recently looked at the JOTM,
i was so impressed by a few of the jotm winners last year and thought i shouI had a very good product/quality job but i am fortunate that
ld be parcipitting

Re: ** JOTM January 2012 **
It's taken as long to upload the pictures as it did to do the job!
As the JOTM is for work completed in that month my first entry for 2012 is an ongoing contract that is finally completed. finally sealed and finally PAID.

Re: ** JOTM January 2012 **
sorry hit the wrong button before finishing.
seems Jan has been a bit slack for most inc me, what with delays after xmas.
ive been out of physical action for first time in 25 years owing to knee operation(TILING RELATED)
propped up ,I had a look see at the forum and looked back historically over last few years.
there have been some truly great installations and strangely or not i think that some of the very best have come from tilers without endless years of experience.
tiling in my view is quite a peculiar trade. you do need to learn the basics of symetry and levels and practice makes perfect as they say but there are a blessed few and i do not count myself among those, that have the x factor.
so i say that regardless of years of experience, get those pictures in because you may be alot better than you think.
I started as fired earth first tiler circa 1983 with a mate and have seen the amazing transformation in our industry, and we should be so thankfull to those pioneers that we have such an interesting trade to be part of.
anyone who can remember back to crystal tiles in avocado/maroon etcc will know what i am talking about.

Well done to all, some real tasty work in.

Re: ** JOTM January 2012 **
Lovely work guys, although my bathrooms are extremely nice they would struggle against the work submitted so I will spare my blushes.
p.s. shame the papers you guys n gals read aren't as classy as the tiling....

Re: ** JOTM January 2012 **
very nice clean job.
out of interest will there be any glass at all at either end.
i imagine not .
i keep getting clients insisting on this design but even with a 15mm fall from mosaic to drain the water tends to bounce off the body all over the floor outside, and client ends having to have a mat across front.
only way weve had this not happen is when you have enough room for 1500mm from drain to edge of shower wall and its not often you have space for a 3mt walk in shower !!

Re: ** JOTM January 2012 **
No, thats it. Yes, water does splash outside of shower area, but clients requests and all that. Great visual impact for resale which is what they desired
