Merry Christmas to all from Hillhead Tiling.
Here's my entry for the Christmas comp.
The floor is in a big job I was tiling for ADL, it was designed by Michael Mc kenna who knows how to impress the customers.
600 x 600 x 15 mm light marron in main floor with dark marron border and light again for inner border.

Here's my date proof, finished today including templating around the bullnose.

Just finished my Ensuite Wet Room which I must admit has taken over a year to complete on and off. I got a lot of advice and help from the
TilersForums before I started, and I couldn't have done it without that - many thanks to all who helped.

One wall of the room was timber framed to allow space for the toilet cistern, the shower pump and the storage areas, and the rest of the room was cement rendered. The room was then waterproofed using 9mm No-more-ply and BAL waterproofing tape and fluid. Electric underfloor heating was laid and the whole room was tiled with porcelain tiles using a mixture of BAL and Mapei adhesives, and Mapei Grout. The tiles were cut using an angle grinder with a diamond disc. The ceiling was made using 6mm Tilebackerboard, covered in aluminium foil, then a glass mosaic was applied using Arboseal HM adhesive. The glass was all collected from the beach in front of my house and given a final polish in a gem-polishing drum before being used. The Arboseal HM was also used to grout the glass. Around the edge of the Ceiling, I placed a strip of waterproof LED lights and covered them with a row of the beach glass to highlight the edges. LED downlighters were also used in the ceiling. All the sanitary ware and shower \ taps came from Victor Paris in Glasgow. Everything is wall hung so the floor is clear.

I had the glass door made to order, and all the woodwork is solid beech to match the bedroom. I did have a little help from a plumber mate to make sure the shower and toilet connections were OK. I was very pleased with the way it turned out.

Would I do anything different? I would never do a mosaic ceiling again - it had about 2600 pieces of glass, and it took forever!

    Sorry,

Didn't quite grasp the concept - photo attached. It's a bit like Midnight Run!

Ok, something very different here, my private commission work finished in Dec, all glazed with a clear non-yellowing hybrid resin laquer that is meant to be completely weather and waterproof, hope you like it. And most of all I hope Michael (Strummerman) and his wife Debs will like it. The request was for: bright colours, flowers, butterflies, buddhist theme. I added the stone resin buddha and covered it in gold, used the buddhist wheel of life idea on the bowl, buddhist temple colours for the bold effects - all hand cut glass, some vitrified, some stained, and ready made weatherproof butterflies. It is still in three sections, the top places slightly off centre, by oversight, on some photos, it can be all cemented together nice and straight, or left as is in situ. I have his permission to post these now, so here goes:

(Datestamp on the close-up pic) Thanks for the commission, Michael.

    Happy New Year Rob

I like your Travertine work in the bathroom / shower room on this one, it is very clean and stunning to look at Rob.
You have been tested with all the cuts and bullnose edges on this one. I notice that you have used Wedi board for the wall construction in the shower area. Its something we have done a bit of although I tend to use 100mm slab. however I am curious about the use of what appears to be liquid membrane compound all-over the inside wet area. Can you advise what product it is and why you decided to use it - rather than tanking tape over the joints only and corner joints, which is the method we use. [QUOTE=Thespanishtiler;568056]Hello

Hello Richard, no easy floor to tile there.
The substrate was a fine sand/cement. Very flat thankfully and a wet UFH built in below, well cured and no decoupling used.
I was doing this for ADL who supplied everything as agreed with architect etc.
