The prize for this month is a GOODIE bag from Mapei uk....
All entries must either be date stamped on the pics entered or a news paper dated within the JOTM thread shown in one of the pics.
This is to prevent entries that were completed before the JOTM started etc, this is to make it fair for all who enter.
So if you enter pics and they are not as above then your entry will not count..
Just to add this is a competition that has been held in the hidden sub-forum ( The tilers arms) for a couple years now.. but is now to be held each month in the public Tiling forum as the standard of work is so high that the entries really need more exposure to the public..
We really hope more of you join in and let's see some cool pics of what you can do.... just remember that we do need to see a date stamp on those pics or a newspaper taken in the pics of the said work.. just to confirm it was done within the month of the JOTM..
Come on lads and ladies. We want your best job of the month no matter what job it is. Let's try get loads of entries. I might run another cash prize as it's xmas but don't hold me too it just yet.
i know mate i didnt know that the tiles were going to be 900s until i got there they were supposed to be 600x400 the job was in delemere and im from liverpool i was leaving at about 6.30 and gettin home about 6.30 so i never had a chance to sort one out. i only had a rubi 180nd with a marcrist blade in it
This is also my first entry into JOTM - Tumbled Trav - Opus Romano Pattern on the Walls with 60*40 Brickwork Trav on the floor. No real drama's on this job, I used tile wedges instead of spacers to space the Opus pattern as we all know they can vary!

Nice work you two, good start, to the comp, lets see some more new people's pics. As has been said before, the work doesn't need to be top end fancy stuff, a well prepared and well set out splash-back could win. So come on TF members get your entries in.
Here's my first stab at the JOTM competition. It's a sparkly bathroom created by knocking together a small bathroom and a loo. The floor was a mess of old floorboards with about 40mm out of level across 3m, so after sorting the plumbing beneath, a new 18mm WBP ply floor was laid onto firings. All the vertical corners were rounded off to let the mosaic flow around the room - that took a while to get right! The walls are Iridis Verbena mosaic on Weber SPF adhesive with Weber Pro grout and the floor is Mirror Diamond synthetic black granite on Weber SPF with Weber Pro grout. It's taken 4 weeks to complete but we do now have very happy customers !
was a nice job to do as customer chose some nice gear to go into the room, always a pleasure to work with nice tiles and fittings
room was re boarded top to bottom with moisture res pboard and aquapanel
artex ceiling was over boarded and skimmed and spots and fan installed and painted
bath framed in and tiled...all floors up and re piped as room was moved all around
i must remember to take prep photos next time, please forgive me this time as we had a baby right in the middle of this one....well not literally me but my wife lol
customer is a designer of console games(xbox etc ) so when i met him he had a cardboard bathroom pre made bathroom to show me what he wanted ,lol
the setting out i would have chosen slightly different, and the tile cuts behind the pan were interesting choices as well as they didnt want to see the waste pipe but didnt like full btw pans?
all work done by myself apart from spots and plumbing
mirrors are to be installed by a seperate company next week
Very clean looking job Jamie, just my taste. I agree with you on the inserts at the back of the pan, why not just have a pan that sits flush with the wall? Anyway, a great looking job
hello,
this is my first entry. i found this great forum a few days ago. i´m from germany and its very interesting for me. we don´t have such a connection and i think its not possible in germany. there is lots of inspiration projekts for me here and i´m very surprised how much stone tiles are processed in the uk.
here is my job of the month november. i shot the fotos on nov 30 but last two days it was not possible for me to load it up. if its to late, no problem at all.
its a black and white bathroom in a new house. i made a huge bathtub platform with a built in wardrobe on the right side and a illuminated niche in the backround. i worked up two euro-pallets of gas concrete stones. the wall between the shower and the sinks include a built in mirror cabinet.
the other pictures show the guest toilet and the entrance room.
all tiles are cut on bevel or miter on the edges. or how do you call it? we say "gehrungsschnitt". sorry about my english.
greetings rainer
