The prize for this month is a GOODIE bag from Mapei uk....
And we also have this month ...
Hello all, here is my entry. A shower room that I finished up today. It was for a builder and good friend of mine. The customer wanted the mosaics on the floor to be fixed in this pattern and not as they came on the sheets, so every other course of tiles had to be marked and cut by hand into wedge shapes, this took an ages to do but I like the outcome. The floor was then grouted in epoxy. The walls have LED lights in them that make a nice touch. Unfortunately tho, I dont have many pics of the job in progress as my camera with most of my stage by stage pics on it was pinched. Anyway, I hope there is enough to be interesting.
Hi folks, I am not sure if this will qualify as a bona fide job of the month but here goes anyway. In recent times, what with work being slack, I have taken to mosaic art as a hobby. After a few poor starts, I finally have come up with a piece that is presentable. I started by downloading a picture from google and then scaled it up in size on to some ply 600x 400. I spent about a week of evenings roughly 2 hours at a time and finally I have this to show for my time. I will understand if the mods don't allow it but I would still appreciate some feedback, especially from the mosaic art specialists on the forum. This is a small extension in a 300+year old church. W.C tiled and Original Style tiles to match existing Minton Floor.
I went back up to seal this, ready for grouting the next day at 22.30, Pretty spooky at that time of night lol
Murf, yey! welcome to the artistic mosaic world and everybody else, too, wow, what great entries! Ok, here is mine, haven't had the chance to take new photos since but hope these will be ok, with the camera date stamp The job was to translate a London artist's small original artwork, (included in the photos) into a much larger exterior mosaic, about 1200 x1350. Glass, epoxy and marble glue on Versapanel. My garden table is in need of painting, included for an idea of size. Oh, the artist asked for the black background to be made more interesting, with some movement, and she liked the iridescent glass idea.

My votes in , some really nice intricate work on this months competition .Hard to vote seeing as there different scales but all have had alot of time and effort put into them ,good luck!
Just 45 voters out of all those in the TF Arms? - come on people! This competition will go public next month, show your interest in all the contributors' work..C'mon!!
Just voting, cant make my mind up, well done all fantastic work
Well done, Brian thanks for bothering. I showed this competition to some family visitors yesterday, (yes, I voted for Rich, too, love what he did there and thought all the entries were really worth showing) and they said, why so few voters (in general)? and I guessed that maybe most couldn't be bothered? And it seemed so unenthusiastic!
hundreds of Tilers arms members. ???? and so few votes.. hence why it is now in the public domains.. from October.
Exactly!!! I showed this to Howard's sisters just for a few seconds, literally, yesterday, and their reaction was so quick - why so few voters!? It was an instant reaction! So I got on my soapbox about it... but really, if fellow tilers can't appreciate amazing work and show their support within their own trade, how can customers be expected to??
This is where the voting in the public section should get more votes and ones that actually vote for the one they like and not just fellow friends trusted advisors etc..

Is that what people do Dave? Thats a bit rubbish (only because I have no friends).
