Discuss ** Time to vote JOTM April 2011 ** in the Job Of The Month Forum at TilersForums; Hi Tilers arms members.
Time to vote for a winner for JOTM April 2011..
The prize for this month is a GOODIE bag from Mapei uk....
And we also have ...
I'll get the ball rolling. Finished off today. Polished limestone inside and out. 300 x various x 15mm inside and 600x various x 30mm outside (some outside slabs were as much as 1400mm so they were a bit of a back breaker!!) 10mm gap between edge of outside tile and edge of glass building where the stone has been rounded off to allow water to run down to drain. Also the whole length of the outside has rounded edges to give a nice finish. 4 x 115mm holes cut for outside lights. Scribing around brickwork steps. Grout lines running in line from inside to out and all at same level. Materials used : Dural CI Matting, Bal Tile and Stone PTB, Mapei Ultracolour Jasmine Grout, Lithofin Stain Stop and Lithofin Powerclean.
A bit of a job that one!! Hope you like it
thought i would add this wetroom all the walls are granite .under floor heating ,glass mosaics.
i got a window company to cut the glass door and we took the window out and put in a special mirrored window.
all granite and glass equals reflections so was hard to get a good pic
Three cracking entries and all worthy jotm title.... Would still like to see some progress, substrate prep and fixing method pics, but thats me just being fussy.
Votes in and good luck to all.

I couldn't choose one based on quality of workman/womanship alone as they are all top drawer, so I've gone with which one I like personally. Not the way I normally choose but you backed me into a corner!
3 Very Good entries - I like the limestone - excellent work and well finished. The granite wet room is smart work and as one who has done a fair bit of Granite work, I like the accuracy. - I like Tenchman would like to see some stage work photo's - well done
The Pengiuns are really special and My vote goes North this month, but a close decision
if i could just say i did all the prep work on my wetroom ,walls back to stud or block ,floor to the joists replastered the ceiling added lights, mate plumbed in the rad ,shower ,pump we replaced the window ,put in the stud work to accomadate the glass and changed the window ,put ufh on the former and latexed .wish i had taken before photos a lot of work went into this but i dfont think the pics justify this
That photo of those rounded edges around that post, Ross, clinched it for me, - deserves a medal in my book apart all the neat cutting in and the fact that my back could break just looking at it all, but Brinkley's work is really really good, too, aren't we all clever? I said to hubby that if I did win I'd send the knee pads to you, you'd need them more than me, I mean kneepads and mosaic studio... and he burst out laughing, saying too right you don't need kneepads, tell them you'll kneel before no man... Nice to show our stuff but the best thing of all is the happy customer at the end of each...
Ross, you won for sure, deservedly so, I voted for 'ya, so you must be good!! We just have to wait for the post to make it official, I was just looking for it!! Dan and Dave are obviously really busy, but I am sure one of them will post the winner thread very soon!
