Well back today after a couple of days off sick, and to gentle ease my way back in I'll enter this small kitchen/understair floor i did today. Tiles were really nice, each one slightly different from the next.
And after the success of getting 2 votes last month, Im spurred on for this month
As you can see the builder kindly fitted all skirting, arcitraves and went to the trouble of glossing everything for methe joys of site work!

here is mine for jotm, thanks to kev for his help and perseverance through the snow and ice (we where set up for wet cutting outside and temps where minus 14 on the last morning !)
job was a pleasure to do and a challenge for me on the plumbing side with an i-lux running through 2 diverters to feed the bath aqua filler, handset and shower over head douche
and a late request for a niche in the shower !
hope you like it. kev, me and the client did

Ok, so thats me done until the new year, this is what I've been up to for the last week or so. 20mm thick limestone, 500mm wide and random lengths ranging from 250mm to 1000mm. The stone is local and the customer told me that he went to watch some of it being cut. I have included alot of detail photos as there was a sandstone wall running down one side of the building that needed scribing to, the customer didn't want the architraves cutting either so had to cut round all those( bless the makita grinder!). There are also a couple of random tiles that the lady of the house wanted putting in as feature tiles and 3 steps had to be created. There are 4 areas, hallway, dining area, WC and passage to living area.

Here goes with the Hillhead Tiling entry for another month.....
90m2 of 600x600x20mm polished marble running through seven areas all linked.
Ditra used in certain areas to stop cracks and for minor adjustments in levels.
Pics do not do justice and customers were absolutely delighted in the finish as usual.
All mapei adhesives and grouts used(keraquick white adhesive and ultracolor plus jasmine grout).
All sealed with lithofin stain stop.

Some really nice work this month - Although I have already voted I have a question for Darragh
The photographs of the black and white/grey marble floor do not do your work justice - I am sure if the images were sharper then the quality of your work would shine through. Could you please tell us something about how you went about the project, the preparation and in particular how you tackled the issue of cutting the detail of the super border especially around the lowest stair tread and double nosing on the double curve. I am impressed with the setting out - clearly a good deal of planning and due consideration went into the floor. I like it - a lot - well done. -- Looking forward to hearing more about it - thanks
