Here's my entry for this month, nothing like the architect planned, I had to insist on a bull nose on the step, also a variable to highlight the border. I used a decoupling membrane over the old concrete, then a backer board to reach the desired height. This job was completed today, I walked off last week as the quantities were all wrong, I was wet through, no lights using my headlight to see. On the good side eventually the architect gave me carte blanche, and my mate ed came along to share the freezing cold weather. PS, the riser was not my idea.

Yeah geometric/victorian stuff will always be just that, geo/viccy.

Retro in new builds / fancy apartments and the likes, but we have that many houses built around the time it was quite popular that current owners see the appeal to have them as it suits the style.

And I dare say if it wasn't so time consuming (therefore labour costly) to fit then I think you'd see bigger area's too. I can imagine some kitchens done with it with a nice range cooker and hand built thick wooden kitchen.
