Post Small bathroom - walls, marble, London E15

    Hello All,

I'm looking for a good tiler to do our bathroom walls. We have beautiful marble tiles (Gemini Carrara) and I want to make sure we get someone who knows what they're doing to put them up!!!

I think it was 12 square meters of tiles we bought, but that was allowing extra for cuttings and breakages.

I'll attempt to describe roughly what we want doing...
There's the whole wall directly over the bath.
Then round the corner across the head of the bath and continue floor to ceiling for another couple of feet or so which brings you up to the door frame.
The wall at the foot of the bath is to be tiled across its entire width (2.1m) to mid height. This will incorporate tiling around the lower part of the window.
The walls were skimmed a couple of months ago, so the surface is fresh plaster. We plan to put up tile backer boards and try to put one coat of sealant on the tiles the day before tiling.

That's probably about as clear as mud! I can take some pictures if that helps.

Ideally we'd like it done soon, the bath should be plumbed in by the end of the week. Living without a bathroom isn't much fun! We're prepared to wait for a while for someone competent though. I'm immediately suspicious of anyone who is free tomorrow! We've already experienced incompetent carpenters, and a tiler who insisted that he'd never heard of putting insulation boards beneath UFH and it was a waste of money.

If you could let me know if you'd be interested that would be fantastic. We'd also really appreciate a vague idea of when you might be available and a ball park cost. (I don't expect an accurate price before you've seen the job, and won't hold you to it, to the nearest £100 would give us an idea. We've had one quote so far and that was almost as expensive as the tiles )

There will also be 20 square meters of kitchen floor wanting tiling in the not too distant future.

    Any questions, please ask!

    Cheers,

    Alice
