Overbath Showers - Priming, Tanking and Stone Tiling | | I am about to refurbish my old Bathroom Suite and I have a few tiling related issues that I would like to resolve before I begin, hopefully one of ‘TilersForums.co.uk’ experts can point me in the right direction…
The room has two external walls (Plasterboard on Dot and Dab) and two internal walls (Plasterboard on timber stud), the whole room will be tiled out in 10mm Polished Limestone, including over the bath, which will have a venturi mixer shower (Trevi Boost) as the overbath shower unit.
1. Over the bath would you suggest using a tanking system such as BAL WP1, even though the two walls within the shower will not directly get sprayed, only splash back from the spray hitting the bath or the user?
2. Would you suggest using a primer such a BAL APD to the other areas of the room and will the existing walls which are currently emulsioned have to be sanded/ scored before doing so?
3. The BAL/ Dunlop tanking products appear quite time consuming/ involved, is there a product that can be just painted on to the walls and left to dry prior to tiling?
Thanks… |
