Default Removing tiles to re-tile but plaster has come away.

Hi there. I want to update my kitchen tiles so i've removed the old ones but some of the plaster has come away in patches with the tiles. Would i need to plaster the wall again or would i be able to just go ahead and apply the tile adhesive?

It depends on how much plaster has come away, what is left behind the plaster and what kind of state the plaster left on the wall is.

If the plaster left on the wall is in good condition then you might be able to patch in with a rapid setting adhesive before you start to give you a flat surface to tile onto. If the plaster on the wall is shot then it is definitely worth getting the wall sorted before tiling.

Some tilers would tile onto patchy walls

    Some wouldnt

    Personally flat walls are best

If the plasterboard is dot and dabbed on, cut out affected area and cut a new piece in
