    Default Aluminium versus Chrome (Steel)

    Hi
Looking to add a 'feature' metal trim. Can anyone tell me if it's worth the money to go for 'Chrome' trim (>£30+ per metre) over polished Aluminum (<£10 per metre)?
    Thanks
    Jonathan

    to the forum.

If you were buying it from me I'd tell you to go for Chrome but it wouldn't cost that (your price sounds like stainless steel)

Careful with the grouting as some metal trims etch/scratch.

Twas I that posted the message.

It was at Porcelanosa. After Googling 'listello' that's what we looking at I think - we wanted a polished metal look. I'm guessing that it was a high chrome stainless steel hence the price, so stain resistant, but probably not any more scratch resistant than Al.

'Chromed' metal I guess would have a better finish than Al, but I was worried about the longevity.

I have never had any issues with Genesis products and they have a great selection.

I find with genesis trims they have a plastic film on the surface to protect it.

Thanks for the responses. We found out why the Porcelanosa trims were so dear - they were Chromed Brass!
