Default Travertine Tiles in Shower - what do I use to seal them?

I have bought some natural travertine tiles for my shower cubicle but as they are porous think they need sealing or something to make them waterproof. I have got some stuff that the people I bought the tiles from recommended, but would like other opinions/advice on the best way to go about this.
