grout degrading in the
Guest Area at TilersForums;
Ive been told that damp and mildue can cause tile grout to degrade resulting in water leaking in thro the joints,
Is this correct??

A tile grout that is not fully water proof will let water seep into it..this is normal for grouts..( unless an epoxy one is used ) The grout does wet up but unless there is excessive wetting then it is not usually a problem as long the the prep work to the substrate is correct... as for damp and mildew degrading then i would say no!! ...
If you have problems with a crumbly grout etc...then it is more likely to be a poor installation or wrong grout was used for the job....
