Kitchen Tiles - need some advice
Our kitchen is in desperate need of updating. The units themselves, however, are ok. It's the tiles that are the problem.
Is it possible to remove the tiles without affecting the units and work surfaces and simply retile? That would seem to be a much more cost effective way of updating without having to rip the whole thing out and starting again.
All advice gratefully received!!

Re: Kitchen Tiles - need some advice
There are defintely some tiles that have been cut around the units (at the end i think). Along the middle part of the units there may be some tiles behind.

Re: Kitchen Tiles - need some advice
GT - you usually find the tiles will be cut around the units but in the middle the tiles will be slipped up the back of the wall units.
Therefore you should remove all the tiles, make good the walls, and come back to the forum to ask your next move.

Re: Kitchen Tiles - need some advice
If you remove silicone from untis / worktop etc you will be able to see if the tile goes behind these fitting or whether it has just been cut.
If the tiles dont go behind any fitting you can just rip of the tiles and then my advice would be to cut out plaster board and resheat similar to the pics I posted (except you could leave the untis and work top in place)

Dont worry, take a hammer to them all they will come off!!!.
Splashbacks are always tiled after installation of kitchen, just make sure you protect your work surfaces, cooker, sink etc, use gloves and goggles most important for DIY. P.s generally when you get the first tiles de-bonded, the rest should literally fall off.
