glasroc f flameline
I have been tiling for 4yrs and have just been asked to lay tiles onto british gipsum glasroc f flameline 10mm thick onto a bathroom floor. Has anybody used this product and any idea if it needs priming etc? reccommended adhesives etc?

It has fibres through it to give strength, it's strong but can snap quite easily.
I be calling British Gypsum technical to confirm it's use.

Why has the plumber put it down? Did he give a reason?

Re: glasroc f flameline
Very strange!
As it happen's i'm using this tomorrow to seal around a gas stove around the flu, then sealing it with fire stop. As Whitebeam says it's basically a fireboard!
Think i'd be ripping it up and putting a proper base down. Sounds like the only explanation is something to do with a firestop to the floor underneath. Which theoretically should be double boarded with fireboard (plasterboard)oops out of room.

Re: glasroc f flameline
There has been mention in the past of someone using plsterboard on the floor instead of ply or a backer board. Perhaps this plumber decide this would be better??
