    Default Preparation Help

    Hi,
I am preparing my bathroom for tiling:-
I need to cover up some pipework. What should i use? Is it best to use plywood, mdf or cement board? The area should not ever become wet.Any advice appreciated. The area for covering will be 1.4m x 30cm.
Next is the walls which have been recently replastered.Should i tile direct onto plaster or should I prepare the plastered area with PVA or plaster primer.
    Any advice appreciated.

first of all read this to understand why you should never use p.v.a-

for the best job i would use cement boards for the boxing area's,there will be very little difference in price
alcohol-the cause and solution to all of lifes problems

I would use tile backer board in preference to ply or MDF as David says never PVA
