Reasonably new to the tiling game, and in need of advice. I've just had to pull up all my tiles on the bathroom floor because they had come loose. They were fitted about 18months year ago but not sure what adhesive was used. The floors chipboard with stapled 6mm ply done by the tiler. What are my best options? Here's what I've gathered so far:

1)Re-lay tiles using fastflex.
2)Re-lay tiles using rapidset flexible.
3)Rip up 6mm ply and replace with 6mm backerboard and use rapidset flexible.
4)Overlay 6mm backerboard ontop of ply and use rapidset flexible.(this option does give hieght issues).

The floor as is seems reasonably solid, but my main concerns are water contamination of floor as its a well used bathroom. Also the price of the tile adhesive, been quoted at £75 for 1 set of fastflex and £55 for bag of rapid flex - does this this sound about right, as most other brands (unibond etc) are about £15.

You can get fast flex much cheaper than that and i would opt for option 3 but with FastFlex IMO.

replace your ply,and screw at 200mm centres,prime the ply and use either Fast flex or rapid set flexi,personally i would opt for fastflex,but that price you have been quoted is about double what CTD charge me mate

You don't prime ply if using these adhesives. The back and edges must be sealed with SBR prior to laying.

I'd rip up the old ply and replace it.
Bond with dunlop bonding agent 4 parts water:1 part bonding and stick tiles with dunlop set fast plus (20kg is about £25-£30 and should cover 5m2. Use a flexi grout.

Dunlop Set fast plus is similar to bals' flexi.

problem could have stemmed,in my opinion, from tiler stapling instead of screwing ply overlay, thengo for option 3

good advice is to use a backer board.
Take up the ply as it is too thin and use a flexible adhesive appropriate to the type of tiles ie travertine or ceramic.
£75 is rediculous per bag BAL or Dunlop are very good.

AS an ulitimate solution you could just rip up the flooboards and replace them with 18mm marine ply.
