Default tiles onto asphalt floor, help needed

    hi all, my first visit

I want to put ceramic tiles down in my kitchen and after pulling up the tiles that were down I have discovered an asphalt floor. The local tile shop has said you cannot put tiles onto bitumen and told us to go down to the concrete. (tbh I think he thought our tiles were glued down with bitumen). Anyway what do I need to do to prep, as well as a good adhesive to use. Is there any thing I must make sure I dont do.

    many thanks in advance
    Elena

If it is an asphalt floor then just wash to clean it and then tile with a suitable adhesive...

Mapei make a few that are suitable ..i.e . .. Adesilex p9 or mapeker...
