Default Porcelein Tiles

I have been asked to tile a corridor with 2 sizes of porcelein tile. The first is a square tile which the client has requested as a border - the second is a rectangle which she has requested to be set out in a brick pattern - however this will leave a cut edge adjoining a smooth edge on the square border tile - advice please.
Thanks if you can help.
Bernie

It all depends on how well the tile cuts. Sometimes a dry cutter can leave a cleaner edge as a wet cutter can at times chip the edges slightly. Grab a tile and try it.

If the porcelain tile is through bodied ( same colour from face to back ) then use a tile file or rubbing block to smooth the cut edge.........

Below is a through bodied porcelain tile. IE the contents of the tile are the same all the way through (a homogenous mix)

We put the nice face forward on the exposed edges and the cuts to the back.

If you cut straight grout does hide a multitude of sins.

All I would say on porcelain (to everyone!) is.... Dont forget your drill bits.

But then as we sell drills then I would wouldnt I !!!
