    Hi,
I was recommended to this forum by a member as a means to try and solve a problem with my limestone travertine floor. The floor was laid in 2007 by what I thought was the leading provider in my area (the Isle of Wight). Unfortunately the floor is not satisfactory and I have not been able to get the original provider to sort it out. The main problems arise from (I believe) not cleaning the tiles properly prior to laying and sealing and through heavy polishing to remove lipping on about 10% of the tiles. This has left the floor looking smeared and with uneven polished finishes. I think that there are two possible resolutions - replace the whole floor or re-face the top surface so that I can get back to a honed flat finish with no rounded edges on the tiles. What is really disappointing about this is that I did not spare any expense in getting the floor laid and complied with all the recommendations of the original provider re materials etc. What I am looking for is someone to give me some professional advice on the best solution. I don't want to have to take the floor up unless absolutely necessary as there is underfloor heating under it and a kitchen on top of it!! I am happy to pay for someone to come and assess the floor and give me a quote to get it sorted.
    Yours hopefully
    Derek
