HI - can anyone tell me which would be best the best tile option for a floor space of approx 42sqm for our electric underfloor heating.either 8mm porcelain tile or 20mm limestone for UFH? anyone know where i can get a good deal on either of these?

for me it would be limestone , as for best places to buy depends on your budget

thanks - i hear there are pros and cons to the depth of the tile.. 8mm wil be quicker to heat up but wil loose the heat quicker whereas the deeper 20mm tile will retain the heat for longer but will take longer to heat up. Keen to hear views on which is the best option to go for. our budget is approx £15sqm.

I think you'll struggle to get a good grade limestone for that budget tbh.

You cannot buy any limestone for that price... maybe a low low grade Travertine but not limestone...

think you will have to up that budget a good porc would be above £20 per mt and a good limestone £25 + happy hunting...

I would agree with all this. What type of U/F heating do you already have, or what type are you going for?

if you up the price a bit you will get a porcelain tile ,no chance on limestone though imo im afraid
