Default Is this right...? in this weather!?

    Hi all

Just wired up and installed my bathroom UFH thermostat.

Its reading that the current floor temp is 20 degs! certainly doesnt feel like it in bare feet!

Is this right? Has anyone else got UFH in their bathrooms? If so what are your floor temps with the UFH off?

Also how can I run in the ufh at temps lower than this!? as the unit will not switch on untill ambient tile temp is lower than desired thermostat setting

    bemused!

Just called them.... they seem to think 15 to 19 is normal for a middle of the house room.

21 degs is going to be a bit much for its first setting! (to bed in with new tiles)

might see if the temp drops later this eve... I guess ive been in and out of the room all day and 6 downlights have been on all day too.......

We've just reset a thermostat for a floor repair we have been on this week. (original work done by others).
I switched the thermostat on and it was reading 19 degrees.

Thanks John, I just installed the Kitchen/cloakroom one... freezing floor and reads as below

in these situations then, do I start the running in procedure at a couple of degrees above these levels (ie 18 deg kitchen and 22 deg bathroom)

I've always understood it that way Dave, a couple of degrees a day above the ambient temp.

Those readings are correct dave It sounds alot, but those are the temps you have to increase by. I have a infra red (with laser) thermometer to check all temps when fitting UFH..... they are inexpensive and also handy for when laying outside or onto solid floors, ensuring no colder than 5 degrees
