Default Underfloor lights and Ditra matting

Can anyone please help. We have a situation with a timber floor, old t&g floor boards (all in good order) where we were going to put down Ditra matting. The client asked for underfloor lights, like downlighters but in the floor. We are concerned as to whether the matting might be affected by the heat. Any help is appreciated.

Leave the matting recessed a few centimetres from the lights.. So say the lights were 22mm dia then cut holes in ditra 60mm.. if you see what i mean..

    What is the lighting for?

If it is for effect, then go with LED's - used effectively then can make a good tiling job look incredible, but.....

Their luminoscity tends to be poor when sourced from DIY sheds, and builders merchants, and the brighter ones available through dedicated lighting specialist are expensive.

Thank You ALL. I will ask client about what lights they are proposing to use, will recommend LED's. Also keep the matting back off recess.
