Default fastwarm floor heating insulation

Has anybody out there used the fastwarm insulation boards? They look similar to the boards used on a job I have just finished off ( the customer had someone else instal the ufh before I tiled over it.)
Firsl impressions were that it didn't look very robust, but after crawling around on it for two days it wasn't even scuffed.

Are these boards anygood or should I just stick to hardibacker type boards?

Default Re: fastwarm floor heating insulation

Fastwarm boards are manufactured from extruded polystyrene (XPS), we have branded our range of floor grade extruded polystyrene boards as EkoBOARDs, see Underfloor Heating | Floor Insulation | Uheat & www.ekoboard.co.uk

Please be careful with this type of floor insulation, make sure your supplier is selling floor grade XPS. Also we recommend these for concrete base floors but if your on timber then a tile backerboard is normally a better solution (more rigid). If you need info on backerboards please see www.backerboard.co.uk

If anyone needs any further help, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Regards,

Peter
