    Default Granite or quartz?

I'm going to make a table with inlaid granite or quartz tiles, 600X600. Which is the more suitable?

I understand that granite is quarried, quartz manufactured. I've not handled quartz, is it like Corian? That would be unsuitable as a table top because red wine will stain it.

IMO Granite would be better.. not affected by water like some quartz composites can be.
