Default White Porcelain tiles for kitchen - where to buy from?

Hi I have been recommended this site for some advice on which Porcelain tiles to buy for our new kitchen. It is a white high gloss finish and would like to source some white high gloss floor tiles, porcelain, to go with it. The rest of the house renovation we are using porcelanosa, but when they showed us their white porcelain tile, its quite a cream colour.

    Looking for advice thanks!

Thanks for the quick responses! we are looking for a good quality one as we are fitting underfloor heating and don't want to be lifting it anytime soon, which would be a hard wearing one?, the last one (presealed?)

Be very careful where you buy white polished tiles from. Some can stain - even after following the word from the manufacturers. Avoid Topps tiles and Al Murad as they give little or no advice and generally stock low-grade. Prepare to pay Ł40+/sq/m for good quality.

Most are pre-sealed though, but need stripping and re-sealing. Is this a permanent seal?

It is not a pre-seal, just simply a transit wax..

So it basically protects against rubbing and scratching of tiles in transit and makes them look good to buy? This can be mis-leading for buyers as they must factor in the cost of stripping and sealing prior to fixing...

It is for transit purposes but i wouldn't say to make them look good as it dulls them slightly,,

I'm with you on this David, but don't you think there is a severe lacking of knowledge around cheap polished porcelain tiles and the manufacturers careless attitude towards protection?

    Hi Fimac,
We offer a competitve super white porcelain that comes in 60x30 and 60x60 sizes. With these being a polished porcelain they do need to be sealed. This is to prevent any liquids seeping through the polish and staining the tile. When the polish is layered onto the tiles they are filed and buffed down to create an even surface. This leaves micro cavities where air bubbles have been trapt, and so sealing the product ensures that all the microscopic air holes are sealed. All this entails is using a polished porcelain sealer, we use an L.T.P. product called 'MPG sealer', in which a small amount of liquid is applied to the porcelain, buffing after 20 minutes (to remove any wipe marks).
To test if any natural stone or polished porcelain tile needs sealing you can perform an easy watermark test; leave a spot of water on the tiles and after 20 minutes if there is still a visible water mark within the tile this indicates that liquids are being absorbed into the product. Simply clean and reseal!

Hope this is of some help!
