I don't think it's something you need to worry about, it's more for people that don't have english as their first language.

    Hi Terry,

The English test is surprisingly difficult, even for native speakers.

Apart from the talking part, which shouldn't be of any concern, I would advise you to prepare yourself well for the other 3 components.

It is not so much the language that's the issue, but the actual subjects at hand and how you interpret the material that can be quite tricky, especially if you haven't sat any exams for a while.

To get the maximum 20 points for "superior English" you need to score 8 in all four components of the test.

My advice is to prepare yourself properly, do some dummy tests at home (they supply the material) and also sit a mock exam. That way you won't waste your money.

    Best of luck,

    Nick

Thanks Nick , Ive been on there web site and theres a general and advanced test. iam assumng it would be the general test for tradies. i had a look at the practice questions on the general test and now know i wont score high on this test so wont be doing it. the questions are ridiculously hard and annoying! is there any other way to get into oz without doing this pointless test ?

    Hi terry,

Unless you can pass the points test, you're only other option is employer sponsored or student (Trade courses) visas.
