Re: What`s The Going Rate Per Sqm?
We have a couple of Micks on here that are from Oz. They'll be able to contribute to the pricing question when they spot this I'm sure.
Though I'm sure I saw 30 - 40 AUD somewhere, so you're probably about right with your 30-od to 38 figure.
I think Mick (speedy tiler tips Mick) was the one that said that. And he seems to have been in the trade for some time so I'm sure he's got his prices about right.DanTilersForums.co.uk Owner

Re: What`s The Going Rate Per Sqm?
Hi Dean,
Welcome to the forums
$35-40 is about right for new home work if there is 100m2 or more and it's just run of the mill ceramic. If the total meters are less than 100m2 I'd up the price to $45/m2 to make it worth my while. Most of the larger builders will have an allowance for the tiling work and if they give you say 10 houses then they will want a discount rate but I wouldn't come below $35/m2 as the cost of addhesives is always on the rise down here and I won't resort to switching adhesive to cheaper less proven products to try and save a few bucks. Some fixers will and that's Ok they can have the call backs to worry about. If the tiles are porcelain or rectified edge large format my starting price for these is $55/m2 and it goes up from there.
I'm from Brisbane by the way............. where are you from?Checkout My Speedy Tiler Tips

Re: What`s The Going Rate Per Sqm?
That'll be a similar price to here then I think. Though many of the guys are finding they're needing to reduce their charges to get work. But I don't know if that's to do with "the credit crunch" or just the fact we have a lot of newer tilers on here and they're struggling to get their name around to get the repeat custom and customer referals sort of thing.

Re: What`s The Going Rate Per Sqm?
g`day mick
I`m in south australia,i have heaps of work at the moment,as i work for a builder i mostly do wet areas & the odd stick-down...i just wanted to know about what other state`s are working on as i have to ask for more money from my superviser and i just hit them up for an extra $1per sqm only 6 months ago but with EVERYTHING going up i asked again this week for another $1 per sqm rise,an then i felt (am i asking for to much)so i found this web site to put the question out....
wet areas:$39per sqm
stickdowns:$34per sqm straight layed or $42 on the 45
screeding:$18per sqm sand & cement supplyed
brick up bath:$110
and i get $3.00per sqm (floors only)allowance for using flexible glue
cheers

Re: What`s The Going Rate Per Sqm?
hi to everyone,
1) I am tiler in london and I need some advise how to quote the jobs ?
2) Is it depends on what kind of walls am i working with, are they flat or there are many boxes ?
3) what size the tile is?
4) is there a diference in pricing between the floor and walls?
I need general advise how to price on good quality jobs.
