The rule is that 9.5 can be used on studs up to 400mm centres whereas 12.5 can go up to 600mm centres, ie cielings on roof trusses. Having said that 9.5 is pretty flimsy and I reckon you should always try to use 12.5, it gives a much sturdier wall. |
