I usually factor in the travel time in the rate. For me. anything local i.e 30 miles is absorbed as a cost really. Over that I personally would increase my day rate to compensate but to price separately for travel is your decision.

As for the rates you charge, that will depend entirely on what you need to live on, the competition in your area and the reputation you have. If your work comes via referral then you are more valuable than if you have to chase it.
