Default Re: what quals??? ASET & OCN level2

Well now this has really put a cat amongst the pigeons!! lol

I have to agree with al the centres that have posted here, as most of it is fact. Personal comments such as 'hands on training', I can't really comment on.

What I mainy agree with is the fact that the ICA is the quickest route to an NVQ. There is some paperwork to be done, but not that much.

I strongly disagree with the comment made that an ASET or NOCN is a qualification that is only available to centres that are not qualified to offer a City & Guilds qualification. This is not the case, as we offer NOCN courses as well as the range of City & Guilds courses.

From a statistical point of view from our centre, not everybody wants a City & Guids Level 2 ICA, but want to know how to tile and to earn from it. They have no desire to go on site, or to get an NVQ. So the NOCN is perfect for them. And it provides them with a recognised qualification at the same time.

If centres choose not to do City & Guilds, then thats up to them. At the end of the day, Joe Public will lean towards the centre that will give them what they are looking for - and value for money. Simple as that

As i'm sure the other centres do, we just give out facts, so that Joe Public can make an informed decision on which path he wants to follow.
