If i was to reply it would have been exactly the same as diamonds comments above, Our training centre is approved by Aset and the CAA,City and Guilds, We do the EWPAR, experienced worker NVQs and thats it, we concentrate on teaching people to tile for a living in the real world and make money and not to be bogged down with the paperwork that is the ICAs, Im not saying that the underpinning knowledge of the Ica is no good, It is, im saying that its no different to the knowledge that you will reieve doing an aset award, you still have to understand what you are doing to get an Aset award, if you fail to understand you wont get one.
I have all the qualifications to deliver the ICAs and could do it, we just dont. The Aset approval is very strict and you have to be audited to make sure the standards are met continuously, The aset award is pitched at the same level of learning as an
Nvq, with required units to understand and meet.
The
NVQ is an assessment of your skills and thats it which is done out on site, it is nothing to do with being taught in a classroom, You could have been a
tiler for years and never have attended any college or private training centre and still do an
nvq.
The Aset qualification is a certificate that proves to anyone asking that you have been trained to a required standard
