An ASET award is a very low award and is moreso aimed at people who are unable to cope with Intermediate Construction Awards and similar. OCN is usually obtained by training centres who do not have the facilities/staff in place to get approval from City & Guilds or Construction Awards Alliance. If you are looking to gain a qualification in tiling at level 2 to progress you to
NVQ then the ICA is the route you will need, there is no other short term option available. If you have time on your side then there is every chance that a 6 week non qualification course will provide you with sufficient skills to get started in the tiling industry but you would need to be at least 3 years in the industry before gaining an
NVQ. At the end of the day, be careful where you book. Make sure your chosen centre is accredited in one way or another.
