    Hi i have 35metres of slate looking tiles on my kitchen floor i want to lay karndean vinyl down to save me trying to take them up can self leveling compound be put on top of tiles many thanks for any replys

    I aint no expert.I would say that as long as the tiles are soundly fitted and there is no hollow sound sunder neath them then yes that would be ok.

    Boltman.
    Why would anyone want to put karndean down instead of tiles!
    Unless it is a last resort to cover up some poor quality slate effect tiling.

    If you must Mapei fibreplan is good.

    In a couple of years when you take the vinyl up a long handled scraper is the tool you'll need - just to pre-empt another thread.
