if you are concerned with the weight i would tie the marble to the wall with stainless steel wire drilled into the stone and screwed to the wall this is standard prctice in the stone industry i would probably only do this on the ply as a good adhesive such as pci nanolight will take 60kg per sq m and if the wall are put up plumb the load bearing issue is greatly reduced imo |
